"Today's TunA is a bit of indie guitar pop from International One. I think the vocals are reminiscent of Get Cape.Wear Cape.Fly"

We are recording a new live demo today! 5 new songs for the album that are TOP! Soon as we have a working demo we will upload it here. We will let you know. Don't forget to keep checking the MySpace for updates. Speak soon. The Band.
Today, the band realised all matter was merely energy condensed to a slow vibration and that we are all one consciousness exploring itself subjectively, life is a dream and we are the imagination of ourselves.
So they are recording new songs and right now splitting their weeks between rehearsals and recording. Soooo much new material to get through only time for a light breakfast and tea and buscuits throughout the day to keep the creativity flowing. But keep an eye out on the LIVE link on here as we should be announcing some new live dates for October and November shortly. If you've joined the mailing list then great! If not click here and get your name down so that we can send you the gig alerts when they are announced. If you are one of our new friends on MySpace then welcome!!!! Thanks for the add and the comment and the message or all of them! Speak soon.
The lads are currently in prep at a small studio getting all their ideas and demos completed for the end of the year when they return for a long stretch in London to finish their debut album. But they have been replying on their MySpace recently. Send them a message and see if you get a personal response.
International One headlined at the Monarch pub in Camden last Satudary and straight on stage after their amazing set was Amy Winehouse. Pictures of the gig coming soon.

The Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor Mavis Smitheman said: “It’s wonderful to see a Manchester band involved in the celebrations for Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday. It is a great honour for them and I, on behalf of Manchester, offer my congratulations and wish them every success.”

What a day! Two performances in the stadium and the music video for Inyaniso was played whilst we weren't on stage... during the first performance of Inyaniso to the crowd Archbishop Tutu stood up to watch us from his box with Pele and started to dance! At the end of the song both the Archbishop and Don Mullan punched the air and waved at the band - astounding.
Later in the day the band and the choir met with the Archbishop and Don Mullan privately - exclusive footage of this meeting will be live here on Wednesday (16/07/08) so check back to see it. It's not what you might expect.
In the evening the band played accoustically for a celebrity audience of over 650 and rocked! From Pele, Jimmy Nesbit, Ralf Little to old time footballers and even the unlikely Shayne Ward praised the band.

Spielberg said of Phil Hawkins, “one of the best up and coming directors” and now he has agreed to work with International One on the promotional video for the forthcoming charity single Inyaniso. The video is being shot in early July in an urban location and has a powerful reveal.
A quick break from the tour while the lads went into a studio in London with producer Dan Swift to record the charity single; motor home parked on the street outside the studio must have looked a strange site for some of the other artists coming and going as it was there 3 days. But who passes up free parking!
You will get to hear the fruits of their labour in mid-July on Mandela’s birthday (18th).
Armed with a six berth motor home, some vinyl’s with their logo on and their kick ass new instruments the band headed out to London (ALL OVER), Preston, Birmingham, Cambridge, Sheffield, Leeds and a load of other cities to spread the good word and importantly their awesome new sounds!!!
Well they had a wicked time! Check out the videos and gallery for loads of great stuff!!!
In summary; they met Chris Moyles and cooked him breakfast got called “scallies” and made him laugh, the police turned up at an impromptu performance in Leicester Square, they entertained the massive at an early morning (4am) gig in Soho Square and much more!!!!!
And what a letter they received.... the lads were inspired by his words and when parts of his letter read “what makes me truly happy is that you are young, an entirely new generation of musicians, who recognise the power of music and song to be a catalyst for good and create necessary change in our world of too much suffering for the poor and weak. Thank you!” You may be able to begin to understand some of the honour they felt to have been given such a momentous opportunity from a amazing man.
In the letter the Archbishop also invited the band to perform on July 12th at the Britannia stadium at an event that both he and Don Mullan will be attending along with legendary footballer Pele to honour goal keeper Gordon Banks’ 70th birthday. The performance is expected to take place to over 10,000 people.
The day of the Champions League Final and Manchester came out top (good for some) but just before that all happened in the Comedy Store in Manchester, International One were setting up for the showcase that would decide if their song Inyaniso (which means “the truth”) would impress the Archbishop’s people and importantly Don Mullan who had also flown in for the day.
Well................................. the lads delivered and all at the showcase were really impressed, loved the lyrics to the song, the sound and Don Mullan loved it so much at the end of their 30 minute set he asked for Inyaniso to be played again – and so the band obliged gracefully.
It seems that Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Bloody Sunday author and film producer have been getting into their music as they decided to ask an artist to write, perform and release a single. The Archbishop wants to gift the single and all proceeds to Nelson Mandela and his charity as Archbishop Tutu’s 90th birthday present to his friend. They called Daddy Records about International One and asked if the band would write this song.
The lads were amazed by this opportunity and set about writing a song that they were asked to perform for representatives of the Archbishop at a private showcase in Manchester on the 21st May where if the song was right they would be formally asked to release the song by Archbishop Tutu.
